Home sweet home

After a nine-month musical sabbatical in the City of Angels,
Ottawa rockers Lister will play a homecoming show at Zaphod's
Saturday night. "It went really well," said drummer
Marco Rayes of the trip that saw the band make numerous business
and fan connections in Los Angeles. "Of course the one
winter in Ottawa that's not so bad, we miss."
Lister returns home with new legal representation and management
in the U.S., as well as a new bassist in Shane Brouse -- who also
happens to hail from Ottawa though it took mutual Canuck friend
Glenn Humplik to bring the parties together.
Ironically it also took a trip to the south for the Ottawa band
to meet Prime Minister Jean Chretien during his Team Canada visit
in L.A.
The trip was important, but draining says Rayes. "It was an
intense nine months," said the drummer. "Coming back
has actually re-energized us."
We've got a feeling there are big things to come from Lister.
